If any of you are interested in doing something like this, the details are best discussed on the phone, but in a nutshell I've got 8 (4 for each tank) large heavy duty stainless eye straps thru-bolted through the transom upper vertical bulkhead, near the shore power inlets.
I'm using 2 - 2" wide straps on each tank, in an "X" pattern, as well as 3/8" double-braided Dacron line, to secure the tanks to the transom and stern rail.
The tanks actually sit on top of the starboard side (spare) LP tank locker lid. They are locked in place by a big stainless cable and 2 BIG padlocks.
My stern rail also has the additional aft hand rail / outboard motor mount (by Bill Martinelli), which strengthens and stiffens things up, real nice.
