I had Winslow custom pack their 6 man life raft to fit in my port helm seat. I thought I would like an alternative to going up forward in rough weather in a real emergency to deploy their raft.
Besides having it in the cockpit where it is easily accessible you save the cost of the fiberglass container and stainless steel rack. In my case it was in the neighborhood of $1,000.
