Aft Cabin Additional/Temporary Storage

John MacDougall, Annie Laurie, #26

If any of you would like a nice EASY and temporary storage system....have a look at these photos.....

Using the large empty spaces in the aft cabin (the shelf aft of the lockers, under the small opening hatch), allows for some nifty storage.....

Although some may think I've found enough places to stow things on board, I've found I needed just a wee bit more room for some stores.....

Planning a 6 - 8 week cruise, including a 3000 - 4000 mile passage, with a crew of 4.....and wishing to eat well / provision well, etc. and have enough personal items as well as snacks on board so that all are happy, (extra clothes, as well as food, etc.)

Also, I personally wanted to leave some things on board for the return passage of 3000 - 4000 miles over another 6 - 8 weeks later in the year.......as well as have on board some essential provisions not easily purchased overseas......

Using some stainless eyestraps and bungee cargo nets, these spaces can easily be used to store a LOT of stuff..... And, in my case I added 16 (8 on each side) CLEAR heavy-duty, Rubbermaid storage containers (15 qt and 19 qt.), that I can fill up with lots of goodies.....

Enjoy the photos....
