As you will see from the pictures, the stove cover/cutting board sits over the top of the stove and has cleats that align with the counter-top fiddles on either side. That stops the cover moving or sliding while underway. When the stove is in use the stove cover stows vertically over the sink cabinet door frame. It is secured by two ss pins that drop through holes in one of the cleats and through two ss eye straps fixed to the top of the door frame. The only downside is that the door cannot be opened with the stove cover in its stowed position but we have not found this to be a big deal. Hopefully the pictures will make it clear.
