Here are some photos of my new mast top plate extension, spinnaker halyard blocks, and spinnaker halyard fairlead.
This extension moves the spinnaker halyard masthead position forward, and was necessary to allow easy gybing of the asym spinnaker, without any interference from the forestay / genoa furler, nor any chafe problems to the spinnaker halyard itself. Prior to this change, gybing my asym from starboard to port tack was sometimes difficult, and when on port tack, I experienced some spinnaker halyard chafing as it went around the forestay.
In addition to the details of the extension plate, its mounting, and the spinnaker halyard blocks, you can see the spinnaker halyard as it exits the mast (a few feet below the mast top, port side), its smooth fairlead, and its clean / fair run up to the 2 spinnaker halyard blocks on the masthead. No chafe, no interference, just smooth sailing.
The guys at Mack Sails, of Stuart, FL, installed this for me just last month (Oct 2008).
